Spirit of micronatonalism

Our view of micronationalism is that it is a form of self-expression, satire, creativity and imagination, and above all personal sovereignty. Regarding first the aforementioned personal sovereignty, we do what we please within our borders, and what we please to do is have our own nation. It is an expression of who we are and what we can create. Second, Molossia serves as a form of educational satire, engaging people in the discussion of what makes a country through tongue-in-cheek humor. If you see me posturing and acting as the dictator, complete with uniform, then perhaps you will look with a more critical eye upon whatever passes for a government in your own country. Last, we value imagination and creativity very highly in Molossia. Let’s face it folks, it’s all been done before. There have been hundreds of micronations, now long gone, there are hundreds now and there will be hundreds more. They all tend to blur together. Having a micronation is pointless unless you do something with it, something interesting, unique and unusual. In Molossia we constantly strive for that goal, to do something interesting with our nation. I think we do passably well with it. The last thought I have is that a sense of humor of very important. You have to laugh a little, it makes life a bit nicer for everyone. If a micronation fails to see the quiet humor of the walrus ban, then they are people I don’t particularly want to spend time with. I would look elsewhere for like-minded micronationalists, and I have. Let the more serious folks do their thing, and we will do ours and hopefully we’ll all do our part to make the world a better place.”
